Lindfield Horticultural Society: Wednesday 8th March at 8pm in the King Edward Hall. 'The Revival of an Arts and Craft Garden at Standen'-a talk by Sue Greig. Come along to hear about the highs and lows of the 5 year project to reinstate the garden at Standen back to its former glory of the 1920s. The garden team together with a small army of volunteers have undertaken the transformation of planting schemes, revealed hidden gems and reinstated structures in the garden '˜rooms' of this Arts and Crafts family home. All welcome. Entry £1 members, £2 visitors.

LINDFIELD COUNTRY MARKET: has a great display of flowering bulbs and good value early plants and herbs for sale now, and more will be arriving in the coming weeks. Have a look round your garden when the sun is out to see what you need for a colourful year. Delicious home made cakes and preserves, free range eggs plus a wide range of craft items including birthday or special event cards. If you have an unusual birthday to celebrate unique cards can be created. Coffee or Tea and a biscuit still only 50p. King Edward Hall every Thursday from 10am to 11am.

Lindfield Lunchtime Concert: Wednesday 8th March at 1pm at All Saints Church. Juan Pablo Hinojoza is Mexican and a student at the RCM. He played last year for us and returns by popular request. His performance last year received a standing ovation. It’s a concert you won’t want to miss. Light lunches will be served in the Tiger Lounge from 12 noon and then the concert is in the church at 1pm. Admission and lunches are free but gifts towards expenses will be gratefully received.

Mid-Sussex Franco-British Society: Wednesday 8th March at 8pm in the Function Suite, Clair Hall, Haywards Heath. Bernard Masson will give an illustrated talk(in French) about some of the well-known French personalities who have been honoured by Blue Plaques during their residence in London. The Blue Plaques system celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2016. All members and visitors are most welcome. (01444 452385)

Haywards Heath Ceramics Group: Thursday 9th March at 10.35am in the Small Hall at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath. The AGM is first followed by a lecture given by Kathy Niblett on “Slipware Alive.” Kathy is a freelance curator, researcher, writer, teacher and lecturer and lives in the Potteries. Doors open 9.45am with coffee served until 10.20am. Non-members are very welcome by prior arrangement with the membership secretary on 01444 483372 or 414477. Tickets are £8.

Jumble Sale: on Saturday 11th March from 12-2pm at the King Edward Hall in Lindfield organised by the Haywards Heath Lions Club. There will be lots of good quality bric a brac, clothes, linen, books and toys. Also a tombola and refreshments which will include home-made cakes. Donations of jumble will be much appreciated on the day at the Hall from 9am or for collection in advance please call 07711 018479.

Royal British Legion: Lindfield Branch. Tea and Talk. “Lindfield Remembers Passchendaele and El Alamein.” Saturday 25th March at the King Edward Hall. Doors open 2pm-talk begins at 2.30pm. Tickets priced £8 from Jane on 01444 454846.
