Country Market: Most of you know that this takes place every Thursday from 10-11am in the King Edward Hall. With spring almost here the market has plants ready for your garden with an increasing variety coming in week after week and at great prices. Also herbs and spring bulbs for instant colour. Pop outside and see what your garden needs and make plans to plant a lovely display to enjoy this summer. Vegetable growers please note that plants for your plot will be available later on. All the regular homemade cakes, including gluten free, savouries and preserves plus new items to try, fresh eggs and craft items for sale .Drop in for a friendly welcome and a cuppa!
On Friday March18th: at 7.30pm in the Jubilee Room, King Edward Hall there will be a Stir-Up Supper to share food and ideas and explore how, together, we can make the world more just and sustainable. Organised by Tearfund, an international Christian charity, encouraging people to think about how they can live more simply, sustainably and ethically. RSVP:[email protected]

Hide AdLindfield Preservation Society: presents an illustrated talk in the King Edward Hall on Tuesday March 15th at 2.30pm on “The Wealden iron industry ( from the Iron Age to the early 19th century)” by Jeremy Hodgkinson. Iron was made in the Weald of south east England from pre-Roman times until the early 19th century and in the Tudor and Stuart periods it was the main iron production area in the kingdom. The talk explores the raw materials,technology and historical development of the industry. All welcome, entry free. (John Chapman 484470.)
