Littlehampton man arrested on suspicion of robbery

A LITTLEHAMPTON man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Goring on Saturday (October 12).

The incident took place at the Ladbrokes Betting Shop. Police say a man went into the store in Limbrick Lane at 6.55pm and threatened a member of staff with a knife before stealing a quantity of cash. No one was injured and the man ran off.

He is described as white and wearing dark clothing.

A 26-year-old from Littlehampton was arrested yesterday (Sunday, October 13) on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Chris Leech said: “Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously near to the betting shop or who witnessed the incident. If anyone saw a vehicle close by then we will also be interested in hearing from you.”
