Man badly hurt in A21 bike crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured after his bike collided with a car on the A21 at Salehurst on Saturday morning (October 19).

The 43-year-old Hastings man was heading north along the stretch of road when his blue Kawasaki bike collided with a red Daihatsu Sirion heading in the opposite direction at around 7.20am.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene and the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance was scrambled.

The motorcyclist suffered serious fractures to his right arm and leg.

He was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he later underwent surgery.

Police have described the man’s condition as ‘stable’.

The car driver, a 73-year-old man from Salehurst, was uninjured.

The A21 was closed for several hours between Salehurst and John’s Cross while emergency service crews dealt with the incident.
