MP backs new energy campaign
The Big Deal is a national campaign for cheaper energy, which aims to bring people together to harness their collective buying power and deliver lower bills.

Hide AdThe campaign, launched nationwide last month, has received support from senior figures in each major political party.
Nick Herbert said: “Energy bills are one of the biggest worries for my constituents who often feel powerless after years of price rises. That is why I signed up to The Big Deal today, and I’m encouraging people in West Sussex to do the same.
“Together, we can beat the Big Six and save hundreds of pounds.”

Hide AdSince 2005 the average annual gas and electricity bill from the Big Six has more than doubled from under £600 to over £1,200, with profits for energy providers soaring.
Between 2009 and 2012 the Big Six’s profits from supplying households more than quadrupled, rising by £1billion (Ofgem, Nov 2013).
Similar schemes across the world have led to savings of 16.5 percent, which in Britain would be the equivalent of about £200 per person.
