New garden in Rose Green makes perfect sense

Mini-governors at Rose Green Infant School are ready to get stuck into creating a garden to delight the senses.

The pupils have been awarded 4,000 to transform a corner of their school grounds in Hawkins Close into the special area.

The mini-governors have designed the area and are looking forward to seeing it take shape.

Work should be finished in July. The design will include locations which small groups of children can explore by using each of their five senses '“ sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.

Money for the work has come from an award scheme from the Royal Bank of Scotland working with Learning through Landscapes.

More than 900 school grounds have been changed with the financial backing in six years.
