The existence of the League of Friends caused some confusion with the hospital management board’s own fund raising activities.

The new group will be operated from the hospital and run under the hospitals own charitable registration.

The coming together will allow for a streamlining of the management and make some financial savings.

For current Friends of the Hospital, nothing much will change as they will still form the backbone of the organisation.

At a reception to mark the inception of the new group, Sally Compton who will take on the role of chairman, spoke of an exciting future for all concerned.
