Paralympian Sophia Warner becomes a Patron of the Dame Vera Lynn Trust

Sophia is an international athlete who just happens to have cerebral palsy. She competed in the London 2012 Paralympic Games, coming 4th in the Women’s T35 100m and 4th in the Women’s T35 200m and won a bronze medal in the T35 100m at the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games in 2013.

Sophia recently made her first visit to the Dame Vera Lynn Trust in Five Oaks and also started and then took part in the charity’s A2B Walk from Arundel to Brighton.

The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy provides a specialist service for families of young children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties. Parents and children learn daily living skills together at our School for Parents using the principles of Conductive Education.

We support families with babies and children under five years of age.

We receive no statutory funding and rely entirely on the support of the community to raise the £650,000 needed to ensure that this vital and much needed service can continue.
