St Catherine’s Hospice Masquerade Ball in the heart of the Surrey Hills

The black tie event was part of the local hospice’s celebrations to mark 30 years of providing free care to adults with a terminal illness. The evening was kindly sponsored by Berkeley Homes with entertainment sponsors Jackson Stops & Staff and Priors Mead Care Home sponsoring the table plan, with great support from Paul Simon Marquees. The event was hosted by BBC newsreader and Surrey resident, Nicholas Owen, who is also the hospice’s new patron. The ball included a champagne reception, a three course meal, a charity auction and entertainment that got all who attended up dancing.

Matthew Cornish, St Catherine’s Hospice Fundraising Manager, said: “Our 30th anniversary Masquerade Ball was a fantastic success, with more than 200 people attending. We are on track to raise more than £25,000 thanks to the generosity of attendees. The ball was a brilliant way to celebrate 30 years of St Catherine’s nurses caring for local people at the most difficult time of their lives and everyone who attended had a great time”.

The event was organised together with St Catherine’s Hospice New Horizons Appeal.
