World Record busking attempt
Daniel Reed, a 12 year old pupil at Pennthorpe, was inspired to organise the group by the work of Musequality who support communal music making by disadvantaged children in developing countries. He arranged lunch time band rehearsals for Year 6 and 7 pupils, along with their performing arts teacher.
The rehearsals certainly paid off. The group of singers, accompanied by two acoustic guitars and a cello, gathered a large crowd, with at least one passer by suggesting that they ought to be on Britain’s Got Talent!

Hide AdHead of PSHE, Mr Nick Parsons said, “Our school ethos is very much about helping our community, whether in a local or worldwide sense. We run a very popular Charity Committee which children have to apply to join. This event is a shining example of our pupils using their initiative and talent to improve the lives of those less fortunate than themselves.”
