Reader letter: Paying to park at Chichester railway station is now 'another hurdle for older generation'

I was dismayed to arrive at Chichester station this week to find that I could no longer buy a parking ticket in the station.

Apparently from last Saturday, parking a car in the station car park necessitates using the app on a sign in the car park. This of course, necessitates having a phone with which to access it. Sadly, this feels like yet another hurdle for the older generation to negotiate.

The station staff themselves, were concerned for their passengers as without doubt trains will be missed.

It would be interesting to know what is the reason for this change.
