Parking in Haywards Heath on agenda

Parking, speed and safety issues affecting roads in Haywards Heath and surrounding villages were due to be discussed at The Central Mid Sussex County Local Committee meeting at Haywards Heath Library on Tuesday.

Among items on the agenda was the list of roads where councillors and residents believe action needs to be taken.

The committee was asked to decide which should be given priority and flagged up for funding when it was available.

Schemes included: Speeding in America Lane, Haywards Heath; a crossing outside Sainsbury’s in Wivelsfield Road, Haywards Heath; crossing facilities and footpaths on the new Haywards Heath bypass; commuter parking in Newlands, Balcombe, and speeding in Paddockhurst Road, Balcombe; speeding in Gravelye Lane, Lindfield a cycle track in Scaynes Hill; speeding up to Cuckfield from Cuckfield Park; speed worries in Lindfield Road, Ansty; lack of a footpath and lighting by the bus stop on the A272 in Ansty, and safety of the junction of B2036 and Cuckfield Road, Ansty.
