Party for care home's fifth anniversary

The home, which has 60 residents with dementia, held a celebration with guests including Adur Council chairman Mike Mendoza and East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton, who enjoyed a full guided tour of the service.

All residents have their own single room with an en-suite shower room and the purpose-built service also offers communal areas and large secure gardens.

Care managers linked to the home and members of Adur East Lions Club also attended the celebration on Wednesday, September 18.

Kitchen staff made a celebration cake and finger buffet and a new DVD, produced by Shaw healthcare to explain dementia care, was shown.

Suzanne Hughes, Shaw’s director of care and operations presented a plaque to the home.

She said: “It’s a pleasure to be here today to meet the residents and staff on this special day.

“It’s hard to believe we are celebrating our fifth anniversary, how time flies.”

She spent time speaking with residents and staff.
