Coronavirus: Eastbourne hotel closes temporarily and cancels holidays

An Eastbourne hotel has closed its doors in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

Queens Hotel in Marine Parade says the decision to close comes following government advice against all non-essential travel.

The hotel shared a statement from its owners Alfa Travel Ltd on social media.

It said, “We are aware the Prime Minister has recommended against all non-essential travel and will be cancelling all holidays departing up to the end of April 2020.

“We are currently experiencing high call volumes and due to the large numbers of holidays involved, please bear with us whilst we contact customers in date order of departure to discuss alternative travel arrangements.

“During this challenging time, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers who have been affected by this for their patience and understanding.”
