Hide AdAnnouncing the arrival of the crucial funding on social media, a spokesman for Coultershaw Heritage Site said: “As we had a short season last year, which this will happen again this year, we have had a significant drop in our visitor numbers and therefore a drop in income. We also didn’t get the visits from schools and special groups.
“Several of our volunteers have had to isolate because of a risk to their health, and this means that our maintenance and building restoration has suffered. We are in need of more volunteers.
“The NLHF funding will help us to make fresh connection to our communities and the schools – and to strengthen the support and training for our volunteers.”
