5. Alpha - 12-year-old Pomeranian
Alpha is looking for a relaxing retirement home based within a 30-minute drive to the Shoreham rehoming centre. Dogs Trust said a local home is necessary due to Alpha’s diabetes, as his new adopters will need to visit several times to learn how to confidently administer his daily injections. Alpha is a friendly chap and loves being around his favourite people. He would best be suited to a home with older children aged 16 and over, who could understand that he may like his own space, or a rest on occasion, Dogs Trust said. Being an older boy, Alpha would prefer a calm home environment, where he can enjoy some peace and quiet without too much hustle and bustle going on around him. He will need to be the only pet as he likes to have all the fuss and attention to himself. Photo: Dogs Trust

6. BoeBoe - Bulldog
BoeBoe is a sweet and friendly lady, who loves being around people! She is currently seeking a relaxing foster home to see her through her medical needs, including a few surgeries and the recovery period following this, Dogs Trust said. Boe enjoys a calm and peaceful environment, and would be best suited to a home with older children, who could be respectful of her space and allow her to rest. Boe is unsure of some dogs and can be selective about who she wants to interact with. She prefers to walk in places where off-lead dogs are unlikely to come bounding up to her, and she'll need to be the only pet at home. Boe was toilet trained in her previous home and just needs support settling into a routine in her new home. Photo: Dogs Trust

7. Lexi - eight-year-old Labrador cross
Lexi loves spending time with her humans and is always keen to make new friends. Although she’s very friendly and easy-going in many ways, Lexi can be uneasy when people come too close to her while she’s eating, or if they challenge her around food. Because of this, she is best suited to a home where the youngest members of her family are of secondary school age, sensible, and able to be understanding of her need for space occasionally, Dogs Trust said. Lexi is selective of which dogs she likes and prefers to keep to herself when out on her walks. She’ll need to be the only pet in the household. Photo: Dogs Trust

8. Peppy - nine-year-old Patterdale Terrier cross
Dogs Trust said Peppy is a 'one-of-a-kind pooch who has an abundance of character'. His perfect match would be an adult-only family with minimal visitors and no visiting children, who share his passion for the outdoors. Peppy is super-smart and keen to learn, so he makes for an excellent student! While he will need to be the only pet at home, he enjoys walking next to a familiar canine pal and has progressed brilliantly with his social skills. A secure garden of his own is essential, so that he can regularly burn off some steam. Another essential requirement is a multi-carer household, so that there’s always someone around to keep him company, as he finds alone-time challenging. Photo: Dogs Trust
