1. Poppy - 14-year-old Chihuahua cross Pug
Poppy is an outgoing and affectionate pooch with a sweet and friendly nature. Her favourite thing is being close to her people and she likes being involved in whatever's going on around the home. She also loves sleeping in bed with her humans. However, she’s also independent and appreciates having her own space when she wants it. An early riser, Poppy would be happy to enjoy a gentle sunrise stroll around the neighbourhood before contently relaxing for the rest of the day. Dogs Trust said all this little lady needs is a loving home where she can enjoy her peaceful retirement years. Photo: Dogs Trust

2. George - one-year-old Collie cross
With his 'playful, happy spirit', you’ll quickly see what a fun and affectionate boy George is, according to Dogs Trust. He absolutely loves his toys and will happily get stuck into a game of tug with his favourite person. George loves a gentle fuss and a good scratch behind his ears. When he’s feeling unsure, he may look to you for reassurance and comfort. He adores meeting new people and is 'quite the charmer', according to the charity. He will thrive with adopters who can take him on fun adventures. He will need plenty of kindness and support from his future adopters. He’ll need to be the only pet in the home. Photo: Dogs Trust

3. Bertie - two year old crossbreed
Bertie is a two year old Crossbreed with a gentle heart and a playful spirit waiting to shine. Dogs Trust said watching him grow in confidence is incredibly rewarding and, once you've earned his trust, you'll discover the wonderfully goofy boy hiding beneath his shy exterior. When he decides you're one of his favourite people, he will run over and throw himself at you for a cuddle! He adores soft toys, loves a game of ball in the garden with people he knows, and is wonderfully animated and excitable. Bertie has already made fantastic progress and continues to grow in confidence, proving that with kindness and patience he is ready to keep blossoming into a sweet, loyal companion. 4. Mia - five-year-old Akita
Dogs Trust said Mia would bring a fun and playful presence to the home. She’d be the perfect companion for an active family who enjoy getting out and about and taking her on adventures. Mia loves a fuss, especially behind her ears, and adores playing with tug toys and squeaky toys. She also loves meeting new people and getting all the attention she can. Her new family can expect plenty of fun, affection and a very happy girl by their side. Mia will need to be the only pet in the home, although she could enjoy walks with well-suited canine friends.
