5. Freddie - four-year-old French Bulldog
Freddie is a fun character who loves nothing more than hanging out with hisfavourite people. He enjoys meeting dogs out and about and could share his home with a suitable canine companion. However, he is unable to live with cats or other animals. Due to his breed, Freddie needs to take care while exercising, especially during hot weather. He enjoys his outings but is best suited to shorter walks. He could share his home with children over 14 years old. Photo: Dogs Trust

6. Tia - 14-year-old Shih Tzu
Tia is a 'confident little soul' who takes most things in her stride, Dogs Trust said. Her favourite things in life are a good meal, a nice fuss and to bathe in the sun - she would love her own garden to relax in. Tia is looking for a home without cats but may be able to live with small furry animals, having previously lived in a home with Guinea pigs. Tia could share her new home with another senior dog as she has a calm character and prefers dogs of a similar nature to hers. Photo: Dogs Trust

Monty is an active-natured dog with plenty of character. While he is a fun-loving chap with a zest for life, he does have a sensitive side, and will need an understanding family who can support him while he settles into his new routine. Monty can also become overwhelmed around loud noises, busy places, and animated humans. He would be best suited to an adult-only family who could keep things calm and consistent for him. Monty plays 'beautifully' with other dogs that match his playstyle, but he struggles to understand social cues from dogs that aren’t as enthusiastic, Dogs Trust said. Therefore, he will need support from his humans to continue building positive social experiences and to move on when another dog doesn’t wish to interact. Photo: Dogs Trust

8. Dexter - 15-year-old Labrador
Dexter is seeking a home with his best pal Kylie, an 11-year-old Crossbreed, who he has lived with since his youth. Dogs Trust said the pair share a beautiful bond and would love to continue their journey as a pair. Both loving in their characters, they will make for wonderful companions to an adult-only family, where they can relish soaking up all the attention as the only pets. A garden of their own would be preferred, so that they could both bound around and play off-lead from time to time. Photo: Dogs Trust
