9. Motsi - four-year-old Miniature Bull Terrier
Motsi is a 'fun' dog who is looking for a new home with adopters who have experience of her breed and their 'quirks'. Dogs Trust saif she may be able to share her home with another dog, pending successful mixes at the rescue centre. However, Motsi cannot live with cats or other animals. She is looking for an adult-only home with no visiting children and is not suited to first time dog owners, according to Dogs Trust. Motsi would love a family who have plenty of time to dedicate to her. A home with minimal stairs is best for Motsi, she is on lifelong medication which will be discussed in more detail with her new adopters, Dogs Trust said. Photo: Dogs Trust

Kylie is looking for a home with her best pal Dexter, who is a 15-year-old Labrador. Kylie and Dexter have always lived together and share a beautiful bond, so they’d love to continue their journey as a pair, Dogs Trust said. While Kylie can be a little more reserved than Dexter, they are both equally loving once you’ve taken the time to get to know them. They’ll make for wonderful companions to an adult-only family, where they can relish soaking up all the attention as the only pets. A garden of their own would be preferred, so that they could both run around and play off-lead from time to time. Photo: Dogs Trust

11. Diego - two-year-old Coonhound
Diego is a big chap with an even bigger heart! He has a wonderfully calm and docile character that is hard not to love, Dogs Trust said. Diego would be best suited to a home where the youngest members of his family are of secondary-school age. This is due to his size, and the fact that he can sometimes forget his manners and jump up when he’s excited. When it comes to meeting other canines, Diego is an equally sociable chap. However, his enthusiasm, and the big “woof!” he lets out upon greeting, isn’t always appreciated by others, Dogs Trust said. Despite this, he may be able to live with other dogs. Supporting him with some additional training to brush up on his social skills around other dogs would be hugely beneficial. Photo: Dogs Trust

12. Scooby - Greyhound
Scooby is described as a gentle giant with an adorably sweet, yet very sensitive temperament. He much prefers the quieter side of life and would love to find a family who could embrace his docile character, support him with some confidence building, and provide him with the peaceful home that he longs for. Due to his nervous nature, Scooby would best be suited to an adult-only household, with minimal visitors and no visiting children. He is currently residing with his good friend Maggy and would be happy to continue living with her if the right home comes along. A garden of his own is essential, as Scooby may not wish to venture away from his home in the initial stages of settling in. Photo: Dogs Trust
