Ducks in Wisborough Green village pond given quacking new house thanks to father and son

Brian and Wayne Lee kindly answered the Parish Council’s call for help when it was decided that the village ducks’ old home had reached the end of its life.
The Lees did a quacking job designing and building the new home from local wood generously donated by Matt Twelvetrees, and the ducks have now taken up residence in their very own Duckingham Palace and seem to be royally happy.

What is more, the intrepid duo didn’t stop at constructing the new house, they installed it involving cold water, thick mud, leaking waders and the help of local farmer, Paul Stickland, with his loader tractor; the ducks watched in awe, occasionally quacking their approval.
Pete Drummond, chairman of Wisborough Green Parish Council, said: “There are few more pleasurable things than sitting by a lovely village pond, enjoying the view and observing ducks as they go about their ducky activities; the addition of this impressive new duck house just adds to the experience, especially for the ducks.
“Wisborough Green’s pond has been enjoyed by residents, and visitors alike, for many years and, I am sure will continue to be for years into the future.
