Eastbourne Santa Stroll to raise money for charity
A charity walk, where all participants dress up as Santa Claus, is set to take place in Eastbourne on Sunday (December 14).
The Santa Stroll is an annual ‘wheel and walk’ around Sovereign Harbour in aid of local charity Defiant Sports.

Hosted in collaboration with the Sovereign Harbour Residents Association (SHRA), the event’s purpose is to ‘spread festive cheer to locals and raise money’.
A spokesperson for Defiant Sports said: “The Santa Stroll is a casual, community wheel and walk around Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour to raise money for Defiant Sports.
"The best part - everyone gets a Santa Claus outfit to dress in to spread that holly, jolly feeling around!”
The route will lead participants across the North and South Harbour, as well as the seafront. Defiant Sports confirmed the route is wheelchair accessible.
The event was originally set to take place on Sunday, December 7, but was postponed due to strong winds and rain.
A spokesperson for the SHRA said: “Due to the heavy rain and gusty winds forecast for Sunday, the planned Santa Stroll has been postponed until next Sunday, December 14.
“Apologies for the disappointment, and fingers crossed for better weather on Sunday."
Participation costs £5 for children and £10 for adults – which includes a Santa Claus outfit.
To take part, meet outside 4 Seasons Brasserie, Sovereign Harbour, BN23 5UZ, at 10:30am for an optional group warm-up.
The stroll takes place at 11am and finishes around 12pm.
