Eastbourne arts academy charity concert for Christmas
Students from Eastbourne’s My Theatre Academy (MTA) will be hosting a charity concert this December.
They will hold performances titled The Night Out Before Christmas to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice on Friday, December 18, at the Birley Centre, at 7 PM. Tickets are £10 each, with 100% of the profits going directly to the charity.

The evening's performance will bring together current academy students with a line up of returning MTA alumni. These performers are now in their final, crucial graduate years at some of the UK’s most prestigious drama schools and performing arts colleges. This will include Ben Young, who is a final year at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama doing a BA in acting, Lilly Baldock, who is a final year at the Preparation to Perform doing a BA in musical theatre and Leticia Nare, who is a final year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland doing a BA in acting.
A spokesperson for the MTA said: “Despite the intense demands of their final undergraduate years, these artists are returning to Eastbourne specifically to perform with MTA in aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice. This success reflects MTA's proven track record of guiding young talent, often from as early as 8 years old and providing a clear, structured route to succeed in a professional performing arts career through training led entirely by experienced industry professionals.”
The program will feature gospel arrangements and classic Christmas favourites.
