Andrea Gharsallah will embark on three 100km mixtures of jogging and walking, representing the three years since Georgina went missing on March 7, 2018.

Mother-of-two Georgina was last seen in Worthing town centre in Clifton Food and Wine Shop in Clifton Road, with disputed CCTV potentially showing her alive and well that afternoon.

Andrea has worked hard to keep her daughter in the public eye ever since, and on May 29 will join the group Action Challenge in a 100km journey from Richmond, London, to Brighton Racecourse.

“I want to create awareness for all missing people, as well as Georgina,” said Andrea, who is aiming to jog around 56km of the journey.

“I felt like I wanted to do something and I’m always looking for new ways to keep Georgina in the public eye.

“It’s about keeping the story out there and hopefully raising some money for the charity.”

Andrea’s incredible feats will raise money for Missing People, a charity which has supported her and thousands of others whose loved ones are missing.

The charity has ran leafleting campaigns across the country and Andrea has recently started attending Zoom sessions of people in similar situations to herself, which she said had been very positive.

On May 29 she will join around 2,000 other runners setting off from Richmond to jog and walk across the North Downs, through Surrey, Ardingley, Plumpton and Falmer before finishing at Brighton Racecourse.

The approximately 20-hour journey is expected to finish in the early hours of Sunday, May 30.

A keen runner for much of her life, Andrea said the incredible distances will not be easy, but will be worth the effort.

The third 100km challenge is already arranged for September 4, taking Andrea from Eastbourne to Arundel.

A second challenge in between is still being arranged.
