Victoria Heath stunned judges with her own rendition of One by Lewis Capaldi on Saturday night (January 30).

The 37-year-old’s heartfelt performance got a chair turn from Will.i.am – while Tom Jones later ‘kicked himself’ on Twitter for not pressing his button for the aspiring singer.

Victoria, a mum of two boys, is through to the battle rounds on the singing competition where each team will be cut down even further.

She told the Express: “Getting a turn from Will.i.am at my blind audition has just been a dream come true!

“I never thought I would get an audition let alone a turn, it feels like all my dreams are finally coming true! And from possibly the coolest guy on the planet just makes it even more special!

“This experience just means the world to me, we are always teaching our boys to follow their dreams and telling them they can do whatever they put their minds too, and it was time for me to show them how true that can be!

“To be able to sing on that stage and for my family to be there with me makes me feel like a winner already.”

Victoria, who works as an admin-assistant by day, said her experience on The Voice so far has been ‘incredible’, adding that the whole team, the vocal coaches, the star coaches and the other contestants have ‘made this the most beautiful experience for me and my family’.

“I have been so well looked after and really pushed to be the best that I can be and I can’t thank them enough for that!” said Victoria.

“I would never have dreamed of doing this five years ago! But it really proves your should never give up on your dreams!”

Victoria fell in love with singing at a young age. Over the years she has performed with her band, Into the Blue, in the Crawley area.

Her wife, Lauren Webb-Medhurst, 24, said: “She started singing when she was about seven in a school play and literally from then on her parents couldn’t get her to shut up and now I can’t shut her up!

“I was crying my eyes out when she performed – I don’t usually cry but I was booing my eyes out like no tomorrow!

“I was just so proud – and it is nice for family members and friends to see how happy she is and how happy we both are.”

Victoria applied to go on The Voice last year, but due to the covid pandemic, she had to audition by video link.

Lauren said Victoria stopped singing for a time when she had her two sons, Braxton, aged nine, and Dexter, aged seven, and lost her confidence due to past relationships.

“It would mean the world to her if she won,” said Lauren, adding: “But working on the show is incredible enough and I think she wants to show people that you can come back from a dark place and there is always a silver lining and light at the end of the tunnel.”

Victoria and Lauren met in The Brambletye pub in Forest Row five years ago. They tied the knot in Ibiza in 2019.
