Commission inspectors carried out an assessment of the home, run by Caring Homes, following some concerns about how staff responded to changes in people’s needs.

"People were supported by staff who were recruited safely and received training in response to their needs,” they said. “Staff followed the provider’s safeguarding policy and understood how to protect people from the risk of harm or abuse.
"Where concerns were raised, management and staff learned from incidents and put measures in place to avoid reoccurrence.
"People were involved in their care planning and risk assessments, where some people were unable to contribute, their families provided key information.

"People were encouraged to retain their independence; staff were seen to offer choices and ask for people’s opinions which were respected.”
The inspectors added: “People told us they felt safe when living at the service, they told us they would speak with staff or management if they felt unsafe or had concerns.
"People’s comments included, ‘It's all very good, I'm happy here and everyone else seems happy here too. The staff are very helpful and the food is very good’.”

An activity team arranged celebrations, parties and entertainment and people were able to invite their loved ones.
People were also given information about what activities were planned for the day so that they could choose what they wanted to do. They were also given a choice of what they wanted to eat.
People told the inspectors that staff monitored their health and would seek medical intervention if needed.
