If you’re thinking about welcoming a dog into your home, why not consider rescuing?
These canines are currently in care at the RSPCA, which has branches in Chichester and Brighton.
Adoption fees vary between the branches, though both fees include neutering, vaccinations, microchips, flea treatments and worming.

13. Dudley - 10-month-old crossbreed
Dudley was sadly an unclaimed stray. The RSPCA said he is a cheeky, funny boy who loves to zoom around and play. He is very cuddly and affectionate and will snuggle up to you. The charity said Dudley is still an overgrown pup and will need some training. He loves his toys but they don’t last long as he likes to destroy them! Dudley really likes company and would prefer not to be left too long on his own. He can be a little shy when in new places and lacks life experience so will need further socialising. He will need his own garden. Photo: RSPCA

14. Lula - four-year-old Pocket Bully
Lula is a very sensitive girl who was withdrawn when she first arrived at the centre. She is blossoming into a lovely girl but, due to past experiences, she can be quite worried in new situations. Lula walks well on the lead, likes to play with toys and enjoys her walks but can be strong when she wants to go somewhere! She would benefit from further socialisation and training. Lula will need to be the only dog in her new home. She is looking for an experienced, adult-only home in a quiet environment. She will need her own garden. Photo: RSPCA

15. Crystal - five-year-old Husky cross Akita
Crystal is a big, bouncy girl who can be quite strong on the lead and is looking for an experienced owner. She is very friendly and enjoys attention. Due to her breed mix, she will need plenty of mental stimulation to keep her entertained. Crystal has lived with dogs in her previous home and will be socialised further while at the shelter, the RSPCA said. She is looking for a home with adults or teenagers who are used to dogs. Crystal is a new arrival who is still being assessed at the moment. Photo: RSPCA

16. Digger- six-month-old crossbreed
Digger was rescued from a house fire and was a very poorly boy to begin with, the RSPCA said. However, he has now recovered well. Digger is a lively affectionate pup, who loves a cuddle and a play. He didn’t have the best start in life and has sadly already had multiple homes He is highly intelligent and loves to learn and explore. Digger will need his own garden and a home where he will not be left on his own for too long to begin with. This will need to be built up gradually once he has settled. Photo: RSPCA
