VIDEO: It was a walk to remember in Littlehampton

Dozens of people rallied to take part in the annual Bupa Memory Walk, along the seafront promenade, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The event, organised by the staff of the Bupa-run home, Regency Court, in South Terrace, set off from the East Beach Café.

Led by two donkeys, provided by the Ferring Country Centre, the brigade of fundraisers walked west along the parade, to Littlehampton’s pier and back.

Janet Gordon, of Regency Court, said: “We hope to raise about £800 once all the donations have come through.

“The atmosphere was lovely and upbeat. We were doing some exercises to warm up beforehand.

“It was really lovely having the donkeys with us today. We thought that this was just a typical sort of sight to see along the beach.”

Tina Otton, of the Alzheimer’s Society, said she was thrilled by the level of support once again showed by the townsfolk of Littlehampton.

“The work we do is vitally important,” she stressed. “The research and services we provide are so important. We are beating the battle against Alzheimer’s and dementia and we’re getting closer each day to curing them.
