Warnham triplets’ hat-trick success

Good things really do come in threes ... triplets Monty, Hamish and Noah Balfour have each scored a hat-trick in school football matches this season.

The eight-year-olds play for independent Pennthorpe School in Rudgwick, but referees needn’t worry about telling them apart - Monty is in the under-nines B team, while his brothers are in the C squad.

Monty, whose family lives in Warnham, said: “We have great fun playing but this is the first time we’ve all managed hat-tricks in just half a term.”

Pennthorpe under-nines coach Dave McConnell added: “The lads are very cheerful and a strong asset to our teams.

“We look forward to more great things from them in future.”
