Church Services on Sunday October 13 – Harvest Festival, Richard Barron, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am. Please bring your harvest gifts. The non-perishable gifts will be donated to the local family support work organisation, which helps needy families in Hastings and St Leonards. The fresh produce will be sold at the end of the service with proceeds going to Farm Africa. There will be a Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Later that day don’t forget the concert by the Village Choir at Pett Parish Church at 3-30pm. Donations will be for Farm Africa and there will be refreshments.

POPP on Tuesday October 15 will feature a Thai Chi with Annie Cryer. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Also on Tuesday October 15 Pett Parish Council will meet in Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm.

The Mobile Library will be in Pett and Pett Level on Wednesday October 16. It will start at the Church at 10.10am, moving on to Chick Hill at 10:50am and finishing at The Smuggler at 11.20am.

On Friday October 18, Pett W.I. will welcome back an old favourite – Kate Tym, performance poet, editor and author. Last time Kate’s talk was about her poetry; this time her talk is entitled ‘From pen to bookshelf’. This promises to be yet another interesting and informative talk and visitors are always welcome. The meeting starts at 2:30pm and the talk will be followed by a delicious tea.

Also on Friday October 18 the speaker at the Pett Naturalist Society meeting will be Sue Dengate with a talk entitled Stables Theatre: Fun and Finance. Meetings start at 7:30 pm at Pett Village Hall and are always finished by 9:15pm. Annual membership is £5 per year and 50p per meeting, with visitors paying £2 per meeting.

Pett Village Hall Committee is holding another Craft Fair on Saturday November 2. All crafters are welcome with tables at £12. The Fair will run from 10am to 3pm and for more information or to book a table, please contact Jeanette on 01424 814717.
