PLANS to convert an Arundel wine bar into an art gallery have been submitted to Arun District Council.

The proposals also include extensive internal alterations at 63 High Street and converting part of the premises to residential use.

ANGMERING: application for variation of condition 1 following a grant of planning permission A/84/11 – continuance of temporary use of off street car parking for a further two years (this application affects the setting of an adjacent listed building), rear of Phares Courtledge, adjacent to Chandlers BMW, High Street/Water Lane.

ARUNDEL: change of use of ground floor wine bar (class A4) to a gallery within the front two rooms, for exhibiting and selling fine art and sculpture, with the remaining areas, including shop at lower ground floor level, reverting to residential; demolition of outhouse and ancillary storage areas, dismantle and remove rear conservatory and replace with new enclosure for sitting room, with partial glazed roof terrace over; creation of external door at first floor and new external staircase at rear, together with other internal alterations (this application affects the character and appearance of Arundel conservation area), 63 High Street.
