Wealden Local Plan consultation extended
The Local Plan consultation for the Wealden district has been extended, Wealden District Council has confirmed.
The council confirmed the consultation had been extended to 5pm on Monday, March 30 due to users ‘having trouble accessing parts of the council’s website which included the consultation portal for the draft ‘Focused’ Wealden Local Plan’.
A spokesperson for Wealden District Council said: “We are aware that a very small number of users have trouble accessing parts of our website, and particularly the consultation portal for the draft ‘Focused’ Wealden Local Plan.
"We can confirm that this issue has now been rectified and those users will now be able to access these pages.
“However, we have taken the decision to further extend the consultation period for the local plan to allow for further comments until 5pm Monday 30 March 2026.
"Any responses received after this cannot be accepted.”
Feedback from the consultation will be used to develop further iterations of the local plan, which the council hopes to submit before the end of the year.
The current version of the draft plan includes new policies on affordable housing, Sustainable Urban Drainage (SuDS) and Coastal Change Management Areas (CCMAS).
