Development plans for corner plot in West Sussex village
A proposed residential development in a West Sussex village would see one detached house demolished and replaced with six homes.
Rodway Planning Consultancy Limited has submitted the plans for 42 Sea Lane, Ferring, to Arun District Council on behalf of Mr Mat Boyd.
The scheme for the corner plot includes four new terraced houses fronting Sea Lane and two detached houses at the rear, with access from Sea Lane. Comments to be made by October 1.
The site measures 0.187 hectares in total, including the curtilage of 42 Sea Lane and part of the curtilage of the adjacent 36 Sea Lane Gardens.

The existing house and garage would be demolished, along with the garage of the neighbouring property to the north. Provision has also been made for a replacement garage for 36 Sea Lane Gardens.
In the planning statement, Rodway says the terraced properties would be two-and-a-half-storey dwellings, three having four bedrooms and one having three bedrooms. The properties at the rear would be two-and-a-half-storey dwellings, each with three bedrooms.
The agent adds: “A number of residential developments have been permitted on garden land within the immediate surrounding area. These decisions demonstrate that, where appropriately designed and laid out, this form of residential development can be acceptable in this locality.”
