Last year, a record £4,127 was raised in one day through the generosity of townsfolk and this year Haywards Heath Town Team hope to raise even more.

The fun begins at 10.15am when town mayor Sujan Wickremaratchi opens the event ahead of musical renditions from the massed choirs of Lindfield and St Wilfrid’s school choirs. There will be entertainment throughout the day including pony rides, a disco dome and magic shows.

Meanwhile Esther Featherstone and Becky Stevens will be keeping young and old fit with Zumba and Popsteps sessions.

Great Ormond Street Hospital has been providing dedicated care for children from across the UK since 1852. Orchards manager Nicola Bird says: “We’re so lucky to be living so near to this wonderful hospital so let’s do our best to raise even more for them this year.”
