Mohamed said support from the charity Missing People has been ‘tremendous’.

“From day one they have helped me and my children cope with the loss of our loved one,” he said.

“And they have also helped many other families. I don’t know who else we could have turned to for help.

“May I take this opportunity on behalf of myself and all the other families to thank everyone at Missing People for their help and support.”

Missing People publicity officer Jemima Compton said: “Fatima, if you are reading this, please call or text us on 116 000. It’s free and confidential and we can’t trace your call. We just want to provide you with the support you need and help you to be safe. The helpline is here to support people who are missing or thinking of going missing and their loved ones who are left behind.”

Mohamed recently featured on The Missing podcast hosted by Pandora sykes where he describes what he has been through since Fatima went missing.

Kirsty Bennett, criminology lecturer and cold case unit lead at Leeds Beckett University, is leading on Fatima’s disappearance with a group of eight students to conduct an independent review. The unit works in collaboration with Locate International.

If anyone has seen Fatima, they should contact Missing People anonymously by calling or texting 116 000 or by emailing [email protected] or they can call police on 101.
