Singer Adam is one win away from appearing at famous venue

AN APPEARANCE at a world-famous venue is just two songs away for a Bognor Regis rapper and singer.

Adam Turner is within reach of performing at the O2 Arena in London.

That glittering prize is his if he succeeds in the area final of this year’s Live and Unsigned competition at the Guildhall in Portsmouth on May 26.

Among the judges is likely to be the Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale.

Adam, 25, of Seymour Place, will sing one of his songs and a cover version. He has yet to decide his entries.

He said: “I’m hoping to sell 75-80 tickets for my supporters to come and see me in the area final.

“I’ve had good support from the people of Bognor so far. To perform at the O2 Arena is something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Event director of Live and Unsigned Chris Grayston said acts like Adam had achieved a lot to get this far.

“When you consider the amount of entries we had this year, it’s a big deal to have got to this stage and to be one performance away from fulfilling the dream of performing at the O2.”

More than 10,000 acts entered this year’s competition. The 30 in Adam’s last appearance, in the regional final, were reduced to ten for the next round.

“I got a good response from all four judges,” he said. “They described me as being very entertaining and engaging.”

Getting through the initial two rounds in 2012 contrasts with being knocked out at his first attempt last year.

Live and Unsigned 2012’s grand final will be on July 14. The winner gets £10,000, a place on the Live and Unsigned tour and £10,000 worth of publicity.
