Spooky and scary Halloween fun does the trick for charity

The Bexhill charity was founded two years ago by Cathy Sharp to provide emotional and financial help for parents who have lost a child as she did two years ago - Jack’s Dream helps pay for headstones or memorial plaques and gives parents a shoulder to lean on during a difficult and painful time.

The event in the sports complex was organised by Cathy Sharp and Sam Hodges, and featured cake stall, buffet, bouncy castle, raffle, games stall with lucky dip, guess-the-weight-of-the-pumpkin, face painting, Bob The Builder, Uncle Bumble and Dance Moves dance company. Help or donations came from Sweet Tooth from Rye, Karen Eckersley, Siobhan Keppler, Doolally Chatts Cakes, Asda, Spar, childrens authors Peter Wright and Mark Alexander, and illustrator Leigh Dunford.

Sam said: “A huge thank you to the volunteers who helped run the day - Julie Hodges, Emma Sears, Bobbie Henderson and Adrian Sharp and all volunteers that helped run the event.”
