A petition, which has already attracted more than 20,000 signatures, will be delivered to the department of health office in London at the end of the month.

Those wanting to sign the petition have until the end of the day on Monday, January 26, to do so.

A form is available in today’s Gazette, and it can also be signed online, too.

It calls for a cast-iron guarantee that accident and emergency and other services at Worthing and Southlands hospitals, along with those at St Richard’s in Chichester, will be protected.

The campaign was launched in September last year when hospital trust bosses spoke out about fears over the sustainability of both A&E units after losing control of a major set of NHS services to a private health consortium.

As well as all the latest information on the hospital petition, this week’s Gazette also includes all the usual news, sport and features.

There is also a raft of columnists, the business page, a 16-page entertainment guide and a 12-page holiday guide special.

The Gazette is out today (Thursday, January 15) for the bargain price of 80p.
