Carriageway repairs set to take place on a road in Eastbourne were postponed, East Sussex Highways confirmed.
East Sussex Highways confirmed that carriageways repairs on Haystoun Close set to take place on Monday, January 12 were postponed due to ‘urgent works being undertaken by South East Water’.
Work on the road was scheduled to from Monday, January, 12 to Tuesday, January 20, between 8am and 5pm each day.
In a statement on East Sussex Highways’ website, the authority stated that the previously scheduled works would ‘involve targeted patch repairs to improve the overall condition of the road’.
“These works involve targeted patch repairs to improve the overall condition of the road”, the statement continued.
“We will be working between property numbers 8 and 24. Access will be restricted for residents while the work is taking place.
“If you need vehicle access, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team. There may be a slight delay while we make it safe for you to pass, and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
"If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
“Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.”
