National rail strikes: Which trains are running in Sussex today?

Following the first day of industrial action on Thursday (August 18), RMT members at Network Rail and UK train operators were on strike again yesterday (Saturday, August 20).

There will be a knock on affect today Sunday (August 21) – services will start much later than normal and a Sunday service will then operate.

Southern Rail said: "Services will be starting later today.

“We’re running an amended Sunday service with no services before 7am. Services from some stations will be later than this.

Day after strike day trains:

Southern said the disruption from an RMT strike day will have a knock-on effect as the railway will be unavailable overnight, meaning that trains and crew will ‘not be in the correct locations to provide a normal service’.

A spokesperson added: “We expect first services to be extremely crowded and you may not be able to board your chosen service.

“Journey Planners will be updated with the correct information as per above.”

These trains will be run by Southern (mainline), Gatwick Express and Thameslink services (south of London) today (Sunday).

- Uckfield, East Grinstead and Oxted to Croydon and London

- Three Bridges, Gatwick Airport, Tonbridge, Reigate and Redhill to Croydon and London

- Horsham and Crawley to Gatwick Airport, Croydon and London

- Brighton and Haywards Heath to Three Bridges, Gatwick Airport, Croydon and London

- Brighton and Gatwick Airport to London Victoria (Gatwick Express services only)

- Littlehampton, Worthing and Hove to Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Croydon and London

- Portsmouth, Southampton and Bognor Reg to Littlehampton, Brighton, Horsham, Gatwick, Croydon and London

- Ashford, Hastings, Eastbourne, Seaford and Lewes to Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Croydon and London
