VIDEO: Horsham’s Lynd Cross lowers prices for tax parity day

Horsham’s Weatherspoons pub has cut 7.5 per cent from all its food and drink today for tax parity day.

The Lynd Cross, which faces the Shelley Fountain, has had a ‘fantastic’ response from customers, said the pub’s duty manager.

Dave Davies, 26, of Kent, said: “It’s been fantastic. We’ve had residents come in purely for the price reduction.

“We’ve had a very busy lunchtime today. A lot of people were unsure if it was just the food but we’ve lowered everything.”

All 980 of the chain’s pubs across the country have dropped their prices for today.

Dave explained: “The retail and hospitality sector pays 20 per cent on food and drink and the supermarkets pay lower so we are bringing it in line with that just for today to try to give the government an idea of what we could achieve in the long term.”
