Brighton confirm double injury boost for Manchester City

Manchester City vs Brighton in the Premier League from the Etihad Stadium - Saturday, 3pm

Brighton received a double injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City.

The Seagulls - who are third in the standings - suffered a double blow in the 2-0 loss at Liverpool as Ferdi Kadioglu and Chema Andres both sustained hip injuries at Anfield.

The duo missed the penalty-shootout loss at Manchester City on Wednesday but look to be available for the league clash at the Etihad.

Brighton posted pictures of Kadio and Andres in full training, while head coach Fabian Hurzeler said: "A positive was that (Yankuba) Minteh and Mats Wieffer had their comeback yesterday.

“Ferdi, Chema, also Kostoulas (who) we rested yesterday, we are quite convinced that he will be an option for Saturday.

“This is the new information we can give."

Brighton's £18m summer arrival Pascal Struijk is however still struggling with a thigh issue.

Hurzeler added: “Regarding Pascal Struijk, he won’t be an option for the weekend, but we are quite convinced that he will be back afterwards.”
