Chebby doubles up as Chichester City find Frome for improvement
A dull game at Frome Town sprang into life after the break as Emmett Dunn cancelled out Albie Hopkin’s second half opener on 65 minutes before Brandon Chebby hit two goals in a six-minute spell as Chichester City bounced back to winning ways.
City made one change to the starting XI as skipper Rob Hutchings once again lined up at left back with Isaac Bello on the other side and Ben Pashley in the centre alongside Ryan Davidson in front of keeper Max Evans.
James Sweet, Joe Moore, Emmett Dunn, Lucas Pattenden and Worthing loanee Matt Burgess started in midfield with top scorer Harry Bridle up front. Olly Munt, Lloyd Rowlatt, Joe Clarke, Chebby and Sweet’s brother Will warmed the bench.
Dunn got well up to head away Zack Ali’s cross four minutes in and Frome eeper Kyle Phillips cut out Pattenden’s delivery. Pashley tidied up twice as the hosts pressed.

Harry Lucas turned the ball back to his goalie ahead of Bridle before Sam Meakes was flagged offside. Two good tackles by Hutchings and Moore snuffed out Frome danger.
Bridle had a chance on 13 but couldn’t get a hit off, and Evans saved at the other end when Hopkins had a go.
It was all a bit scrappy and Moore gave away a foul on Hopkins at the mid-point and captain Sam Teale’s header was simple for Evans. The Chi No1 then took a delivery from Teale without any trouble and Pashley, who had a good game, cleared another threat.
Pattenden was booked for pushing Ali just before the half hour mark. Teale headed over the bar in the 31st minute then a City free kick went straight into Phillips’ arms.
Hopkins beat Bello and Moore on 34 but Callum Gould’s cross was ineffectual before James Sweet gave way to Rowlatt. Evans hooked clear Hutchings’ back pass and Hopkins missed out on a final touch as the Robins threatened.
Evans beat Archie Ferris to a through ball and a Pashley clearance cannoned off an opponent for a Lillywhites’ goal kick, then Zac Drew fouled Hutchings. In time added on a super tackle denied Bridle.
The home side dominated the opening five minutes of the second half. Evans denied the hard-working Hopkins twice on 47 before Hutchings headed away a Meakes’ cross and Drew bought a foul on the edge of the box in the 48th minute.
Hopkins steered home Meakes’ delivery for the opening goal in the 50th minute.
Drew went into the referee’s notebook in the 54th minute for fouling Pashley, then Pattenden was flagged offside and a Robins coach got booked before theatrics from Meakes and Dunn led to a City free kick.
Chebby came on for Bridle on 58, which would prove a game-changing managerial move.
The home side also made two changes before Brendan Holmes crossed dangerously. Dunn levelled in the 65th minute, lashing home from inside the area.
Munt replaced Burgess on 71 and soon Chebby put Chi 2-1 up with a lovely strike in the 73rd minute.
Clarke came on for Moore before fantastic body strength and a decent finish by Chebby made it 3-1 on 79 minutes before the Robins threw the dice and made a triple substitution.
The home side pulled one back on 86 through new signing Corey Evans. Chi’s own Evans spectacularly denied Frome sub Jon Davies, and the visitors cleared a long Warren Maidment throw.
Chebby, on a hat-trick, struck the post with practically the last kick.
