Chichester City end pre-season run with short trip to Bognor Regis Town
Chichester City complete their programme of pre-season friendlies on Saturday when they visit rivals and neighbours Bognor Regis Town.
It’s been a steady build-up to their new era in the Southern League for City, who have won three of the four friendlies played so far.
They have beaten Christchurch, Baffins Milton Rovers and Aylesbury United after kicking off with a defeat to Moneyfields in the Graeme Gee memorial match – all those games at home.
Now it’s off to Bognor and coach Darin Killpartrick has reiterated that pre-season is not about results, but about the ‘process’ and building towards being ready for the league opener.

That league start comes a week later, on Saturday, August 8, when City host Poole Town, one of the sides fancied in the Southern League Premier South promotion stakes.
As for City’s weekend hosts Bognor, their pre-season schedule was hit when National League Eastleigh pulled out of a planned friendly at Nyewood Lane on Tuesday night.
But they have been boosted by another two signings who may make their debuts against Chi – sttriker Jake Scrimshaw and defender Ben Sheaf.
Both the Rocks and City will be hoping for a big crowd on Saturday for this final warm-up game.
