Crawley Down Gatwick and Hassocks on road in FA Vase

Sussex’s last two FA Vase survivors will both have to hit the road in the third round.

It's a trip to Larkfield & New Hythe for Crawley Down Gatwick after their 3-2 win at Lingfield in last Saturday’s second round.

Larkfield play in the premier division of the Southern Counties East League – the same level as CDG’s SCFL Premier – and knockoed out East Grinstead in round two, winning 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

CDG won at Lingfield thanks to goals by Rhys White, Josh Brown and Oli Leslie.

Meanwhile Hassocks’ reward for beating Eastbourne United in an impressive second round display on Saturday is a viit to Rusthall – who also beat a Sussex side in round two, defeating Haywards Heath Town 4-2.

Rusthall play in the same division as Larkfield and New Hythe.

Hassocks beat their Sussex rivals on Saturday courtesy of goals by Lewis Finney (2), Jack Troak and Alex Fair (2).

In all, six Sussex sides lost in the second round.
