Crawley Town manager Rob Elliot has addressed the substitutions against Shrewsbury Town as he looked ahead to a trip to Reading in League One this weekend.

Reds lost 5-3 at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday and one of the talking points was Elliot’s substitutions. Elliot said he could have waited longer to take Junior Quitirna off after the winger had scored but said the sending off had a big bearing on the game.

Jay Williams (five yellow cards) and Josh Flint (red card) are both suspended for the Reading trip and Elliot said it’s a chance for players to come and impress.

He also said playing at a big stadium in front of a big crowd should act as extra motivations for his players.
