Crawley Town pulled off a brilliant 2-1 win against Forest Green Rovers at the People's Pension Stadium today (Saturday, February 27).
First half goals from Ashley Nadesan and Jordan Tunnicliffe saw the Reds home despite a late strike from Dom Bernard.
But who stood out for the Reds? Here are Cameron Winstanley's player ratings.
Tireless as ever. Not involved as much going forward as previous outings but positive and made things happen when in possession. Fantastic turn to win free kick in line with penalty box which was ultimately cleared.
6. George Francomb 8
Covered every blade of grass playing in midfield, real captains’ performance. Regularly won the ball back well with strong challenges to boot, pressed the backline well, even winning possession from them in good positions high up. Booked. Subbed off on 85 minutes with a knock
7. Jack Powell 8
Unlucky with a couple long balls that nearly reached their target. Dangerous corners which eventually turned fruitful when met by Tunnicliffe for Crawley’s second. Usual good array of passing to get Crawley on the counter. Unlucky more didn’t come of some bright ideas. Booked.
8. Jack Payne 7
No standout moment in the first half but was a key piece in midfield battle. More involvement early in the second half as Crawley gained control and dictated well. Always on the toes of opposition breaking up play well.
