Crawley Town player ratings: Goal scorer top scores with 8.5 while defender gets a 5.5 as Reds lose to Cheltenham

Crawley Town still search for their first home win of the season after losing 1-3 to Cheltenham Town having taken an early lead.

Reds took an early lead in the seventh minute through Dylan Morgan who scored his first goal for the Reds and the first goal at home for Kazim-Richards’ men.

Just past the half an hour mark the Robins stole the lead in quickfire time as Charlie McCann swept one into the bottom left corner following a second phase of a corner before Andreas Weimann headed home from the front post after the Reds seemed to switch off yet again.

McCann added a third giving Crawley an uphill battle after Cheltenham punished the Reds on the break with the Northern Irishman having had all the time to slot it past Michalski.

The away side could have added more but the crossbar denied them on two occasions while the Reds searched for a way back into the match but to no avail.

Here are our player ratings:

Nicholas Michalski: 6 The Blackburn Rovers loanee couldn’t have done much with either of the two first half goals. He was very slow on the ball at times, taking a while to distribute the ball much to Crawley Town fans' frustrations.

Kellan Gordon: 6.5 Most of Crawley’s attacks came down the left hand side so didn’t see as much of the ball but delivered some dangerous crosses when he had the chance.

Charlie Barker: 6.5 Struggled to deal with the movement of the Cheltenham attackers alongside the rest of the defensive unit which led to the Reds being cut through so easily on the counter attack.

Priestley Farquharson: 5.5 The centre-back was caught on the ball a few occasions when the Reds played out from the back. Louie Watson: 7 Played more of a deeper role in today’s game and felt the pressure at times when he received the ball under pressure and facing his own goal but in an attacking sense he was very bright and was part of the move for Crawley’s goal in the first half.

Danilo Orsi: 6.5 Crawley’s number nine provided the assist for Morgan’s opener with a clever little lay off. Other than that he had a very quiet first half.

Osman Kamara: 7.5 Lively as always from the winger and delivered the first time cross into Orsi before he laid it off to Morgan.

Dion Pereira: 7.5 First start of the season for Pereira playing on the right hand side but came inside the pitch on a number of occasions linking up well with Gordon and Watson.

Jude Arthurs: 7 Commanded the team well as always and battled hard - wasn’t the prettiest of performances from the captain but he did his job.

Ade Adeyemo: 7.5 Defended competently when he needed to and handled pressure really well when it was applied

Dylan Morgan: 8.5 The Reds final signing of the window scored Crawley’s opener with a right footed finish into the bottom right corner from just inside the 18 yard box after a well worked move. His movement throughout the first half was outstanding and was one of Crawley’s biggest threats.

Substitutes:

Pemi Aderoju: 7 Held the ball up well at times, however when the ball was delivered into the box it rarely fell to the Peterborough loanee.

Klaudio Krasniqi n/a: Came on and was effective at keeping the ball moving from side to side with some neat footwork.

Gianmarco Di Biase n/a: The striker struggled to leave an imprint on the game.

Jonny Russell: N/A

Malcolm Ebiowei: N/A
