A Holmes hat-trick, plus goals from Ollie Moore and Michael Wood put the hosts 5-0 up at half-time, and though Swans improved in the second half Holmes added a sixth.

Heath boss Steve Painter was especially pleased to see his side bounce back from a 4-0 defeat at AFC Uckfield the week before, while a disappointed Swans boss Nigel Dyer called Heath’s goal-laden 25-minute spell in the first half “the best football I have seen this season from an opposing team’.

Both sides had early chances before Heath broke the deadlock - Andy Howard flicked on Wood’s corner and Ollie Moore rifled home. On 22 minutes Merv Bhujun got round the back of the Swans defence and pulled the ball back to Moore, whose snap shot was blocked by Elliott but fell kindly to Wood to score a second.

Heath keeper Matt Smith kept out a bullet shot from distance from Joe Warner but Heath countered and from Jamal Sultan’s cross Holmes made it 3-0. And it got worse for Storrington on 30 minutes when Moore strode forward and picked out Sulton wide right, and his perfectly weighted early cross found Holmes, who took it in his stride to score his second.

Holmes then completed his hat-trick two minutes before the break, Moore again the provider as Heath went into half-time 5-0 up.

Storrington were much improved after some words at half-time, though Heath got a sixth when Piers McDermott cross for Holmes to bag his fourth.

Swans boss Dyer added: “We must forget about this result and concentrate on the next game now at home against Little Common which is the first game of four in nine days. Inconsistency is a problem for us and needs to be addressed over the coming games.
