Rustington FC’s new 2020-21 shirt – sponsored by Royal Blood – has become somewhat of a hit with the club selling over 200 across the UK and worldwide.

Just last week, shirts have been landing to new supporters in Canada, Holland, America and Australia; in fact demand is so great that the high-profile band’s own merchandise company has taken over sales and distribution for the SCFL division two side.

Blues chairman Gareth Davies has been taken aback by the unbelievable response since linking up with the popular rock band.

He said: “I think we all under estimated the demand for our shirt. We knew how big Royal Blood were but we didn’t appreciate the level of following and interest in America and Canada in particular. To have Rustington FC shirts being dispatched all around the world is a little surreal to be honest."

Despite only releasing a limited 100 shirts last month, these sold out in three days, leading to the club to agree a new deal with the band’s publishing company.

Now, after going back on sale, demand has already been huge.

“We’ve sent shirts to America, Australia, Canada, Switzerland as well as across Europe, our 100th shirt went to someone in Las Vegas which was pretty special,” said Davies.

The club will soon release the new away shirt, also featuring Royal Blood, and if sales match the home shirt sales to date, the team will have even more supporters around the world.
