Why Eastbourne has three chances of success in the Sussex Senior Cup
The Sussex Transport Senior Cup is taking shape – and all three of Eastbourne’s senior teams are still in with a shout of a trip to the Amex final.
The draw for the third round – the last 16 – kept Borough, Town and United apart and threw up some intriguing ties.
Borough will have to come through a Priory Lane tie with Littlehampton Town – the side who caused an upset by beating them in the 2024-25 semi-final at Lancing – if they’re to reach the last eight.
Eastbourne Town are also at home and will welcome Lewes to The Saffrons for their third round tie, while Eastbourne United will visit Bognor Regis Town.

In round two, Borough won 3-0 at home to Little Common, Town won 3-0 at Jarvis Brook and United won 5-1 at home to Selsey.
All three third-round ties are scheduled for Tuesday, November 17.
Meanwhile it’s proving tough for Eastbourne Town in the Isthmian South East. An Alfie Rogers penalty wasn’t quite enough for victory at home to Sittingbourne last Saturday, the visitors making it 1-1 in stoppage time. Town then lost 3-0 at home to leaders South Park on Tuesday.
